Tonight Wisconsinites may still be smarting over losing out on their slice of the Chicago Olympics pie but it is nothing that a little game of football won't cure come Monday night. That's when Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings take on the Green Bay Packers. Peter Leidy, who swore off singing about Brett Favre ever again, has retired from that promise. Here is Pete with a musical preview of next week's Packer-Viking game.
Peter Leidy:
In case you haven't heard there was a big game Monday night. Two rivals going head to head, frenzied football fight, the quarterback for the Vikings got off to a shaky start. I can't recall his name, something like Bruce or Ben or Bart. He threw to his receivers, they failed to make receptions. Charles Woodson alone had 29 interceptions. Classic gun slinging Brad he gave it all he had. But with that many sacks down on his pack, lucky he was wearing pads. Perfect timing for the matchup. I needed to get away from the worries of the world and the bad news of the day. The rising jobless rate and the long health care debate. The Olympics going south and the lies from Glen Beck's mouth. Well, if you love the Packers you know it was quite the game and all kidding aside I still like what's-his-name. But seeing him in purple wearing that number ‘4’ kind of makes me despise the Vikings even more than I did before. So Burt, I want to thank you for all the great memories. In a few short weeks we'll see you here back in the land of cheese. The Packers hosting the Vikings on the hallowed Lambeau grass and if all goes well the Packers are going to kick some Viking...
