They're jumping, vaulting and flipping their way across the UW Madison campus. Watching Parkour enthusiasts leap over walls and flip over barricades may give the impression that they are reckless and out of control, but they would disagree. They say it's a discipline like martial arts that combines running and gymnastics. It is best mastered slowly and carefully.

Music Makers

Madison violin teacher Bonnie Greene wants to give the gift of music to kids who can't afford lessons. She created the Music Makers program in 2007 to help make their dreams come true. Music Makers takes the music right to the kids at 3 community centers and loans them an instrument.

Rainbow Winner

Wisconsin Public Television has aired the children's program "Reading Rainbow" since 1983. Last August, the series left the air, but not before inspiring lots of kids to read books and some to write. That's how In Wisconsin reporter Art Hackett found an award-winning author; she's Abigail Helser of Portage and she's caught the attention of the folks at Reading Rainbow.
