Amber Roth

Researcher Amber Roth may be on track to find a win/win/win solution to three environmental concerns in Wisconsin's Northwoods. Her research may help provide a new market for Wisconsin's loggers, habitat for migratory songbirds, and a new bio-fuel source for our energy hungry world.

Astronaut

On September 30, 2009 (Wednesday) astronaut Jeffrey Williams is scheduled to make his third flight into space. He's blasting off from a desert base in Kazakhstan. It's his second on board the Russian Soyuz rocket.

Blacksmith

When Steve Hackbarth opened his business he called it Badger Village Blacksmithing, in part to evoke the famous Longfellow poem "The Village Blacksmith." Producer Andy Soth finds that like the poet, Hackbarth takes a decidedly philosophical view on the art of metalwork.

Forensic Dogs

A.J. Marhofke trained his border collie, Zip, to search for trace elements of human decomposition. It?s a new, specialized form of dog search that takes the skills of ?cadaver? dogs one step further.

Pow Wow

The wolf, bear, eagle, moose and crane are important symbols to the five clans of the Menominee Nation. They have been handing down their traditions from one generation to the next for 10-thousand years. Each summer clans from across the U.S. and Canada gather for the Menominee Nation Pow Wow.

Sheboygan Dairy Farmer

In our on-going "Money Matters" series, In Wisconsin's Frederica Freyberg found out farmers are still waiting for economic recovery down on the farm. This story is part of a much larger reporting project called Patchwork Nation.
